When it comes time for the holidays or birthdays for friends and family, we’ve always found it difficult finding cool gift ideas for the people who seem to have everything. Even when browsing Amazon it can be cumbersome to find cool gift ideas because their algorithm seems to provide suggestions for the logged in user. With this issue at hand, we decided to create a website that would both help those looking for gifts as well as create a Sir Lion Labs web design portfolio piece to demonstrate an e-commerce solution that also ties in with the Amazon Affiliate program.

Introducing LastMin.Gifts!

This project is built using the WordPress content management framework with two additional plugins, WooCommerce and WooZone, which converts a normal WordPress website into a fully developed e-commerce platform. Normally, sales would be processed by WooCommerce and the admin would be responsible for inventory and shipping but by using the Amazon Affiliate partnership, we can link our products directly to Amazon without the need for holding inventory, shipping each order, or maintaining an SSL security certificate; order processing is entirely handled by Amazon.
